If you missed my discussion with Gene Sung, MD, on The Art of Medicine with Dr. Andrew Wilner, about the World Brain Death Project, here's my Medscape.com interview with Dr. Sung on the same topic. Dr. Sung explains the updated recommendations for the determination of brain death and other benefits of the recently completed World Brain Death Project. Specifically, the Project's recommendations for brain death determination require only one examiner and one examination for adult patients. Ancillary tests are only required in special situations. To learn more, please watch the 15-minute video.
