In 2018, I published, "The Locum Life: A Physician's Guide to Locum Tenens." I had worked locum tenens on and off since 1982. Locums supported me while I wrote a novel and helped me discover that neurology was the most fascinating subspecialty. Later, it allowed me to pursue a career as a medical journalist, lead medical missions in the Philippines, and ultimately find the optimal full-time neurology position as an Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN.

In 2020, I thought it would be fun to produce an audiobook. I learned the software "Audacity" and narrated 6 hours and 45 minutes of "The Locum Life: A Physician's Guide to Locum Tenens." It was challenging to produce my own audiobook and a lot of fun!

It's gratifying to learn that 300 locum tenens physicians (or potential locum tenens physicians) have purchased the audiobook, joining the more than 1000 who have the written copies. I hope the information in the book (and audiobook) smooths their journeys as they seek work life balance and professional fulfillment.
