Breakthrough Treatment for Cystic Fibrosis

I had the pleasure of interviewing Christopher Oermann, MD, Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Care Center at Childrens Mercy Kansas City, about cystic fibrosis. Childrens Mercy Kansas City is one of the national centers for cystic fibrosis.


Cystic fibrosis treatment now includes an FDA-approved CFTR modulator, which has really been a game-changer. It's so exciting to see that basic medical research has finally resulted in a treatment that really makes a difference in patients' quality of life and longevity.
