AEDs and Cardiovascular Risk

Please join me for this 15-minute interview with Colin Josephson, MD, assistant professor of neurology at the University of Calgary, Canada, who presented his research on anti-epileptic drugs and cardiovascular disease at this year's American Epilepsy Society meeting. The data are very provocative and have definite implications for patient care. In particular, Dr. Josephson calls for aggressive management of cardiovascular risk factors in people with epilepsy, especially those taking enzyme-inducing AEDs.
