The Locum Tenens Paradox

My first locum tenens gig was in 1982. Since then, locums has allowed me to write books, pursue as parallel career as a medical journalist, become a PADI divemaster, and lead medical missions in the jungles of the Philippines. Locums now boasts more than 50,000 US physicians taking advantage of this medical employment model. Locums has been so helpful to my career, I even wrote a book about it, "The Locum Life: A Physician's Guide to Locum Tenens."
