Many thanks to Tom Laughner, PhD, for inviting me to offer my 2 cents on giving and receiving feedback. Tom is the Director of the UTHSC Teaching and Learning Center. My video is part of a series of videos by UTHSC educators entitled "Five-Minute University", and I'm honored to join them.

My role as staff neurologist at Regional One Health and Associate Professor of Neurology at UTHSC offers the opportunity to teach residents and students on a daily basis. Students and residents often request feedback, and I need it, too. However, a feedback session can be awkward. Here's my approach that I think takes some of the sting out of important feedback sessions.
