I heard the term "digital nomad," for the first time today while listening to a podcast on a topic unrelated to locum tenens. A "digital nomad" is a professional who works without a fixed base and carries on all their business in the cloud. I thought the term fits locum tenens physicians really well. There's even a locum tenens online agency called "Nomad."

Although I didn't use the term "digital nomad" in my book, I tried to address the needs of the traveling physician. Chapter 15 is devoted to the "Mobile Office" and Chapter 18 provides travel tips.

Here's to success to all those Digital Nomads out there!
